CanalScape BCN goes into action!!

Clearance work being undertaken by Paul Macintosh, Bob Williams, Keith Grice and Laurence Hogg, working from the mb "Barnet"


During July a number of runs have been made on the Wyrley and Essington and the Cannock Extension with a view to lopping back branches of trees obstructing normal navigation. The work has been carried out with the permission of British Waterways who advised on how we should proceed and with what equipment.


Clearance has taken place at Pratts Bridge, Little Bloxwich and on the Cannock Extension.

We plan to make some further trips and anyone who may be interested please contact the society on

Life jackets / bouyancy aids, safety gloves and hard hats are essential. You must provide your own
